As with humans, both the dog’s skin and fur must be cared for and vitalised regularly. Even with short coats, regular combing and detangling is important to prevent widespread skin diseases and the matting of the coat.
In all dogs with double coat, the undercoat must be regularly reduced and removed. Dogs with double coat include: Shepherd, Husky, Eurasier, Chow-Chow, Border Collie, Pomeranian, Pekinese, etc.
